Q. How Old Styles Cover Girl Stephanie Dolgoff? A. Old Styles Cover Girl Stephanie Dolgoff Fine, How You?

Tomorrow's Styles Section cover features a profile of Stephanie Dolgoff -- a writer whose blog has led to a book about what it's like to not be a young, sexy, men-turn-their-heads-and-stare kind of woman anymore. Interesting! Wonder how old Dolgoff is now? Keep wondering. Pamela Paul wrote the entire piece about Dolgoff, focusing on her age and appearance, without once reporting the writer's current age. Hmmm, wouldn't Dolgoff's age appear relevant in a story about, let's see, her age? For those of you joining The NYTPicker already in progress, we covered "reporters are supposed to ask their subjects their age, and put it in their story, and preferably pretty high up" on Day Four.

I'm 43. I'm sure it was accidentally edited out. No secret.

Helen Gurley Brown always advocated lying (upward) about your age, so that people would think you looked super-fabulous and super-young.
